WisdomTree and MoonPay tie tokenized Treasuries to stablecoin reserve operations
WisdomTree and MoonPay are building a U.S. access path for WTGXX, a tokenized Treasury money market fund, while MoonPay plans to use the fund inside its stablecoin reserve management stack. The deal is a practical test of whether tokenized government-money funds can move from specialist RWA venues into consumer-scale fintech distribution.

WisdomTree and MoonPay are connecting two pieces of the onchain finance stack that have usually developed on separate tracks: tokenized Treasury funds for yield and stablecoin infrastructure for payments. The companies announced a collaboration to make the WisdomTree Treasury Money Market Digital Fund, known by ticker WTGXX, available to eligible U.S. investors through a MoonPay-supported access point. MoonPay also plans to use WTGXX as part of its stablecoin reserve management.
The immediate product angle is distribution. WisdomTree said MoonPay’s technology and account network are expected to support another route for U.S. users to access WTGXX, beyond WisdomTree’s existing direct channels and broker-dealer infrastructure. MoonPay says its network spans more than 35 million accounts and more than 1,700 partners, giving the arrangement a consumer and embedded-finance footprint that most tokenized fund launches do not have on day one.
WTGXX is structured as a tokenized money market mutual fund that seeks to maintain a stable $1.00 net asset value while investing in short-duration government money-market instruments. Public RWA market data lists the fund under U.S. Treasury funds, with WisdomTree Digital Management as manager and WisdomTree as the platform. Recent RWA.xyz data showed roughly $1.23 billion in total asset value, a $1.00 NAV, and a quoted seven-day APY near 3.7%, with the fund represented across Ethereum and Arbitrum.
That makes the reserve-management component important. Stablecoin issuers and infrastructure providers increasingly need reserve assets that are liquid, conservative and operationally compatible with 24/7 blockchain flows. Tokenized Treasury funds are not stablecoins, but they can make the cash-management layer more programmable if they are integrated carefully. MoonPay’s stated plan to include WTGXX in its reserve stack points to a model where stablecoin businesses hold tokenized fund shares as part of their high-quality liquid asset mix rather than treating RWA products only as end-user investment wrappers.
The arrangement also shows how tokenized funds are shifting from proof-of-concept listings toward distribution partnerships. WisdomTree has already built regulated digital-fund infrastructure around products such as WTGXX and WisdomTree Prime. MoonPay, after expanding deeper into enterprise stablecoin APIs and payments infrastructure, brings on- and off-ramp experience, compliance workflows and consumer-facing reach. That combination matters because regulated tokenized funds still need identity checks, transfer restrictions, tax records and customer support before they can be embedded in mainstream financial apps. If the integration works as described, the user experience could look less like a standalone tokenized securities portal and more like a familiar fintech entry point into a regulated onchain fund.
The guardrails still matter. Access is described for eligible U.S. investors, not as a blanket retail release, and money market funds carry their own prospectus, suitability and risk disclosures. A tokenized wrapper does not remove fund risk, regulatory obligations or the need to maintain shareholder records and transfer controls. For RWA markets, that distinction is healthy: the more tokenized funds plug into payment and stablecoin systems, the more important it becomes to separate regulated fund shares from payment tokens and from synthetic exposure.
For the broader tokenized Treasury market, the collaboration is a useful signal. Growth has been strongest where products solve an operational problem, not just where they mirror a traditional fund onchain. WTGXX gaining a stablecoin-reserve role and a MoonPay-enabled distribution path suggests tokenized money-market funds are becoming infrastructure for fintech balance sheets as well as investment products for users. The next test is whether partnerships like this produce durable flows, transparent reserve practices and cleaner access for investors without blurring the boundaries between cash, stablecoins and fund shares. If they do, tokenized funds may become a quiet but central settlement-layer asset rather than a niche RWA headline product.
